The discipline applied in Global Care Hospital, is transversal and holistic to other sectors of medicine such as orthopaedics, neurology, rheumatology, pediatrics and many others, because it concerns all areas of motor skills musculoskeletal, neurological and visceral.
Through targeted therapeutic activities and the definition of a personalized rehabilitation program, the physiotherapist aims to help the patient re-acquire the best possible autonomy and recover lost motor skills.
The final objective of a cycle of physiotherapy treatments is to eliminate or minimize disability, bridging the patient’s disadvantage with respect to autonomy or the ability to act and interact.
To achieve this objective our physiotherapists use:
- Manual techniques.
- Physical exercises.
- Educational interventions for the reconditioning of gestures and lifestyles.
- Postural re-education.
- Instrumental physical therapies
- Training in the use of prostheses and aids, if necessary.
Why is physiotherapy important?
Physiotherapy allows to improve the quality of life not only for the elderly but also for young people, athletes and children subject to delays in the development of some motor functions.
The benefits of a series of sessions are many and range from the attenuation of pain to the acquisition/improvement of motor and cognitive faculties, with consequent reduction in the intake of drugs and shorter healing times.
How does a physiotherapy visit work?
An initial visit is performed, in which specialized physiotherapist performs a functional assessment, and a personalized individual treatment program is decided. The physiotherapist then implements the rehabilitation techniques suitable for the implementation of the program and periodically checks the results achieved, possibly modifying the treatments to be performed, so that they are always consistent with the objective to be achieved.
At the end of the cycle of sessions, the physiotherapist provides to the patient indications to prolong the benefit acquired over time.
